I went for a walk around Prague today. Well, I should probably say "we went", 'cause I wasn't alone.
Okay, now I'm pretty much relying on the fact almost no one reads my blog.
It's okay though. At least I can share and write about everything.
morning Prague |
'Cause that's what the cool kids do.
Hehe.
Well, it somehow turned out completely different. Instead of philosophizing we talked, laughed, babbled, and laughed and babbled again.
The most amazing thing about friendship is that whether you're laughing or being silent, you do it all together. You share and enjoy the moments together. Emotions, connections, feelings... It's kinda impressive.
the "Lennon wall" in Prague |
The funny thing is that we're both from Prague, yet we don't know much about its attractions. We walked through the charming streets of the Old town, passing many famous buildings and statues of great men, whose names we should know.
I always pointed on something, expecting my knowing friend to tell me what it is. And he just smiled and said he has no idea.
And I know happiness is just an illusion
but oh,how delightful.

So after parting with my friend I went to look for a birthday present for my other friend. She's turning fifteen so I wanna give her something funny, useful and accurate.
I don't have any photo of the "Cesta domů" store, so here's a pic of a nice random antique shop instead. You're welcome. |
I looked for a nice cozy antique shop aaaaaaand I found one!
I'm kinda ashamed to say this but I've never actually been in any antique shop. Even though I really love all these vintage stuff and I really wanted to visit such store.
I guess I'm just too lazy to go out and actually look for it.
Anyway. I found this shop near Vltavská metro station and I was totally excited about it! The books! The LPs! Everything was sooo cheap!
I could't help myself and bought three books - Vladimir Nobokov's "Lolita", a book about Beatles and this vintage looking hardcover book with creepy old photos in it. Love that. All in all for only 130 CZK (which is less than € 5)! Some of the books cost only 5 CZK each, that's about 18 cents for a book!
Okay, okay. I'll post this simple transfer of our czech crowns, for your better understanding. You learned something about our country now, I bet you didn't know we had our own currency, hehe.
1 Euro = 28 Czech Crowns
1 British pound = 36 Czech Crowns
1 US Dollar = 21 Czech Crowns
Yes, that was very helpful. Very helpful, indeed.
Now I can go back to the sortiment of this amazing antique store.
The LPs very also very exciting goodies. At least for me. Such greats of classical music as Beethoven, Dvořák, Bach, Smetana... only for 30 CZK per one. I couldn't believe my eyes. Hehe, now I have some very cool gifts for my very cool friends.
The next thing were these very old black&white photos. I viewed them with great interest. Suddenly I realized the people smiling and waving on these photos are most likely dead now.
Why, It was quite a strange feeling.
so. i read Lolita and I had really WEIRD feelings about it. I was thinking about buying it, because it's not one of these books you take back to library after reading. i'm sure that when i'll read it maybe 5 years from now, i will enjoy it much much more, plus fact i will speak French at that time:)
ReplyDeletethe idea of walking through the Old Prague is running through my mind and it's driving me insane. i dont have any 'male-friend", even i dont have any "friend" at all. and i am sure, i would be lost. believe me, i have NO idea about Prague, and that's shame for person born in this BEAUTIFUL city.
btw. that picture of antique shop is AMAZING, just like things you've mentioned in your great article.
~yours Hairspray Queen.

Deleteand to be honest, i'd get lost right away if i was just by myself. but after all, wouldn't that be charming in a certain way?
